    Ack! Kudos for your honesty but please please dissuade anyone else who is lacking in experience to follow this path. Side story: As a 14 year old kid I joined a club and learnt to fly. I couldn't afford much of anything and had to stick to the one plane and radio gear. I struggled to even buy dry cell batteries for the radio! There was one guy in the club who was notorious for buying stuff he couldn't fly. Inevitably either on the first or second flight he'd stack it in and in his anger would kick or stamp the model to pieces! As a kid with no money this absolutely killed me. After the crashes the models were generally repairable but his anger made them complete trash. It was a terrible waste!

    • @JestRR
      @JestRR 11 днів тому

      Admittedly I used to be like that. But I have since learned not to take it out on the aircraft!! I’ll look at it later and see what can be done with it.

  • @MaxSupercars
    @MaxSupercars 13 днів тому

    That's how it ends if you got money but no experience... 😃 1.) Do not underestimate the runway. Rather find places with grass on the sides. Practice keeping the plane straight, stop by any sign of going out of track. Do not take off/land too far from you. Rather go back and try again. 2.) Buy cheaper beginner's jet and learn with it. Otherwise you a.) do not enjoy a new toy b.) waste your money... Here's my F-14 Tomcat with 2x 80mm EDFs: ua-cam.com/video/Xb4QZseB65I/v-deo.html

    • @JestRR
      @JestRR 10 днів тому

      Well, I don’t have money, that’s for sure!! This is the only paved area I can use in a pinch, and it was really my fault cause I’m doing things I don’t normally do with my radio, and the plane. This was bought from a family whose uncle had passed away and they were trying to liquidate his estate of RC equipment. So I got it for a good deal but the real problem is I don’t jets on a normal basis. My field sucks when it comes to small wheeled planes, hence why I was at the school using their paved area. It was a good learning experience and I’m sure I’ll try it again, and the plane can be repaired.

    Bad choice of jet to try flying outside in the street brother. The F14 tomcat is tricky and needs some getting used too. It also has a special take off requirements. Better to use at a AMA field. The F15 & F16 are way easier to fly

    That very long line must be one of the most demanding piloting aspect of scale helicopters flying, with amplified stick inputs at the end of the rope. Maybe doing it nose-in would help bring quicker results? I feel better facing the heli, by adding to concentration. Once I have a suitable heli, I will try it for sure. 🙂

    There seems to be a small but constant left yaw input being applied by the flight controller to keep the heli from yawing right. I wonder if one of the rotors is carrying more weight than the other? Or perhaps the blades are different between the two rotors, causing one rotor to have more rotational drag than the other? It seems one rotor is producing more torque than the other (yaw). Edit: regardless, that's a great flying model! I really enjoyed watching it fly! Thanks for sharing.
